SMK Saujana Impian is located near the housing estate developed by Syarikat Negara Propeties Sdn. Bhd. The school was named after the housing estate that is Taman Saujana Impian, located near the Cheras-Semenyih Highway Junction.
SMK Saujana Impian started out with the first principal, Hajjah Asma bt. TK Ab. Rahman on the 1st December 2000. The school started operating on January 2001, at SK Saujana Impian opposite the SMK Saujana Impian.
